My thoughts and beliefs about the war are that we wouldnt be here today in this position if it never happend. It was ment to be and had its reasons to be important for our world. I feel like war is an awful thing and should nessacarly never be needed, but then again it is a way of solving things plus fighting for what you want. If it comes a time the US needs to be in a war then so be it. Everything happens for a reason right?
Well after watching the documentary on it, I learned that Elisberg giving out the pentagon papers to the public was the best possible thing at the time. I believe the public deserved to know what was going on and what was being said. All the lies that were said were revlied and he never went to jail, which if you ask me was the good way to go. I think its amazing that he still takes part in those kinda of things to this day so good for him.

The Great Gasby: Chapter 1
As mentioned in chapter one, Nick is a sarcastic guy. He is basically poor and a respectable person. Also he was thought to be engaged and was in WW1.
"It's a triumph. What thoroughness! What realism! Knew when to stop, too--didn't cut the pages. But what do you want? What do you expect?"
Daisy has a 3 year old daughter. She wants her to be a fool for some reason. Her themes are white and light. Her husband is cheating.
"I hope she'll be a fool--that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool... You see, I think everything's terrible anyhow... And I know. I've been everywhere and seen everything and done everything."
Tom is the cheating husband. He has some girl in New York. His wife is daisy. He is very racist and Buff.
"would drift on forever seeking, a little wistfully, for the dramatic turbulence of some irrecoverable football game."
Jordan is Daisy's friend, she is a golfer. Tells Nick about the affair and is getting set up with him.

"The younger of the two was a stranger to me. She was extended full length at her end of the divan, completely motionless and her chin raised a little as if she were balancing something on it which was quite likely to fall."
What I can already tell about the characters in the novel is that they are stuck up and think highly of themselves. Could also be a racist factor there too. The first few chapters were all about info on learning the characters so it was a lot to take in all at once, I'm hoping the story line gets better as it goes on. I can't really say how I feel about the writing style yet, but he is good at getting a lot of info in one chapter. The colors/themes that have been mention are white and light, which were associated with Daisy.

Why are we reading The Crucible?
If I was going to pick something from the crucible to compare to my life it would be when Proctor and Abigail had a thing together. It just stood out to me because i found it really inappreate! He used her and then didnt want to have anything to do with her at all after. Even though he was married they should of known that sex creates strong feelings towards one another. Then again guys do think differently about these situtations so lets leave it at that.
The situation that is related to this in my life would have to be shopping. Once I see something I want someone else in the same size falls in love with it first and had grabed it before me. There is already not a big selection in size S, you have to buy something right away or chances are when you walk back to get it it will be gone already. Then you leave the store all sad and think about it all the time like, if I would have just stopped and made up my mind before hand I wouldnt be in this bad situtation in the first place. But thats how life goes, lots of screw ups and wishing you would have done things differently.

What it means to be an American
The things that are unique about American literature is that we all live similar lives. As in, the things we have in common with each other, day by day we go about our lives doing pretty much all the same things like; we get up go to school and work, eat gunk food, come home, be lazy while sitting on the couch watching TV, then go to sleep and repeat the same thing the next day. Also, we have the same short of goals and dreams. It all starts in kinder garden when we see our roll models being big stars and people who save lives. Then, we hope someday we will grow up to be someone like them.
Stories, poetry, plays and novels created by Americans tell us that American culture is we have to many stereotypes. For example, the mid eastern people think we are all evil and the European people think we are rich snobs. I don't believe in stereotypes because you shouldn't judge anyone before you meet them no matter what culture or race you are and most the time you will be surprised that their not who you thought they were. Its great to be an American because most countries don't come even close to having the rights we have and we don't realize how much we take advantage of that.
